The Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing CAD expertise to develop precise 3D models and drawings, ensuring manufacturability and seamless assembly. You will work with complex mechanisms and assemblies, ensuring that designs accommodate tight packaging constraints while maintaining optimal functionality. Your role will be pivotal in translating design concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions that align with the highest industry standards.


Requirements

  • Proven experience with CAD drawing and 3D modeling.
  • Strong skills in setting up tolerances and geometric dimensioning (GD&T).
  • Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles, materials, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to design for tight packaging and accommodate complex shapes.
  • Experience working on mechanisms and moving parts.
  • Ability to translate design concepts into fully assembled systems.
  • Some background in electrical technician work, including wiring (bonus).
  • Familiarity with testing parameters such as friction and wear for manufacturing (bonus).


Responsibilities

As a Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

CAD Expertise:

  • Create detailed CAD drawings and 3D models for various components and assemblies.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in design and manufacturing.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM):

  • Develop designs that optimize manufacturability, reducing production costs and complexity.
  • Select appropriate materials and assembly processes to ensure durability and efficiency.

Mechanism & Assembly:

  • Design and refine mechanisms, ensuring smooth motion and functionality.
  • Assemble and test prototypes to validate design integrity and performance.

Integration & Optimization:

  • Work closely with engineers to optimize packaging constraints while maintaining performance.
  • Ensure minimal interference between components and seamless system integration.

Electrical & Testing (Bonus):

  • Assist in wiring and electrical integration if required.
  • Conduct tests related to friction, wear, and durability to validate designs.
