Senior Rendering Engineer | Unreal Engine/GPU optimisation | Gaming Studio | Nintendo Switch | Remote Options | $150,000 - $200,000

The Role
This studio is seeking someone with many years of experience in GPU optimization for a game utilizing the Unreal Engine for release on Nintendo Switch. A successful candidate will have extensive experience optimizing GPU performance either on Nintendo Switch or utilizing the Unreal Engine. Both would be a bonus, but not strictly necessary.
  
Responsibilities
  • Contribute well-structured high-quality code, game enhancements, and features.
  • Ideate, architect, and implement scalable rendering systems, pipelines and tools, collaborating with the rendering and art teams to gather requirements, and acting upon feedback to refine and hone features
  • Collaborate with other programmers on performance, integration and support tasks
  • Collaborate continuously with a team (artists, game designers, and producers) throughout the project life-cycle to deliver high quality games through iteratively building solutions.
  • Assist in guiding and mentoring a team of bright engineers to improve the whole technical team and process through inclusive leadership.
  • Handle and problem solve issues related to various gaming platforms to ensure the game is fully functional on the desired operating system.
  • Support optimization of systems and deal with issues such as bug fixes and systems crashes.
  • Work closely with designers to understand and refine design intentions through rapid iteration and prototyping.
  • Be a go-to expert and take ownership for key areas of technology.
  • Contribute to the improvement of engineering practices for better design, testing, and implementation.
  
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in GPU optimisation
  • Expert proficiency in the Unreal Engine
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, focusing in rendering
  • Experience with a graphics API for mobile or console
  • Strong in programming C# / C++
  • Experience with graphics debugging and optimization
  • A proven track record for working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
