As the Connected TV (CTV) market across APAC continues its rapid expansion over the next 5–10 years, Samsung Ads is positioned to lead the charge - driving innovation, empowering brands and agencies, and helping them unlock greater value from their media investments. This role plays a pivotal part in that journey by championing the power of data and research to deliver smarter outcomes and turning insights into strategic action.
About the Position:
At the core of this role is advanced data analysis. As Research & Insights Lead, you’ll be a strategic force within the business, deepening our understanding of TV viewership trends, translating data into meaningful insights, and positioning Samsung Ads as a thought leader in the CTV and digital advertising space.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to:
· Interrogate complex data sets to uncover audience behaviours and market dynamics
· Apply rigorous methodologies and critical thinking to turn viewing data into clear, strategic stories and narratives
· Guide brands and agencies toward more effective advertising decisions
· Take ownership of the full lifecycle of research and insights delivery

This Sydney-based role reports directly to the APAC Head of Marketing and Analytics and offers the opportunity to shape a world-class advertising sales organisation at the forefront of CTV innovation. You will work in close collaboration with Marketing, Data & Analytics, and Sales teams to produce industry-leading work. You’ll also collaborate with global teams across Samsung Ads to share insights, align strategies, and amplify best practices - ensuring we make the most of our global network to drive growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
As Research & Insights Lead, your mission is to harness Samsung’s proprietary data and advanced technology to drive meaningful engagement with brands and agencies. You’ll lead tailored research initiatives that support the Sales team and spearhead thought leadership projects that educate the market on the value and future of Connected TV.
· Research Strategy & Execution: Define and own the research roadmap. Lead end-to-end projects that quantify Samsung Ads’ impact on brand outcomes and commercial performance. Apply rigorous methodologies, ensure statistical validity, and translate findings into compelling narratives that align cross-functional stakeholders
· Conceptualisation & Hypothesis: Formulate research hypotheses grounded in data trends and market intelligence. Design research initiatives that test emerging themes, validate customer behaviours, and connect insights directly to Samsung Ads’ strategic objectives.
· Advanced Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Apply advanced analytical techniques and frameworks to extract actionable insights from Samsung’s rich first-party datasets and relevant third-party sources. Surface viewing behaviours and audience patterns through reports, whitepapers, dashboards, client presentations, press articles, fact sheets, and bespoke analysis.
· Thought Leadership: Own the APAC Thought Leadership strategy. Collaborate with Product Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Sales, and Data & Analytics to define objectives and deliver high-impact research that positions Samsung Ads as a category leader.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Data & Analytics, Marketing, and Sales to ensure research initiatives are strategically aligned and commercially impactful.
· Market Education & Client Engagement: Represent Samsung Ads in client meetings and industry forums. Educate partners on our unique data capabilities and co-develop data-driven initiatives that unlock value and drive business outcomes.
· Research Partners: In close collaboration with our Partnerships and Data & Analytics teams, co-create solutions, uncover new insights, and expand Samsung Ads’ insights and research related opportunities through existing and potential net new relationships with external research orientated organisations.
· Research & Insights Leadership: Provide guidance, frameworks, and training to internal teams and external partners on best practices and standards.
What you’ll need to succeed in this role?
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· 10+ years in agency, media owner, or consulting environments
· 10+ years in experience research analytics/insights roles
Proven Experience
· You must have demonstrable experience both leading and directly executing research projects, producing outputs such as reports, whitepapers, and articles. Your own analytical thinking, data synthesis, narrative structuring, and interpretation must have been central to the final material released.
· You have taken full ownership from hypothesis through to publication, conducting the analysis and ensuring the work is methodologically rigorous, evidence-based, and market-relevant.
Domain Expertise
· Knowledge of research design and frameworks for analysis
· Deep understanding of Streaming TV, Linear TV, and Digital Video
· Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
· Expertise in market research and audience behaviour
· Thorough understanding of the media landscape and media agency ecosystem
· Strong experience designing data solutions aligned to client business needs
· Knowledge of measurement, attribution
· Experience in digital/addressable targeting
Communication & Influence
· Ability to craft clear, concise narratives that simplify complex topics
· Skilled at bridging technical and business audiences
· Strong client consulting and stakeholder engagement capabilities
