The Role:

As a crucial member of the team, you will work on a globally successful AAA title (a Survival MMO), leading the rendering performance architecture for the game. Reporting into the Technical Director, the successful candidate will have extensive AAA experience, with a specialisation in the development and performance optimization of engine rendering effects. Your impactful role will deliver advanced engine and rendering techniques to elevate this well-known title, designing innovative solutions to pre-empt and address potential challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on cutting-edge graphics technology, responsible for the development and performance optimization of engine rendering effects.
  • Responsible for the development and performance optimization of the engine's underlying rendering pipeline.
  • Enhance and optimize prevailing systems to amplify functionality and performance.
  • Responsible for combining the latest graphics technology with project requirements to enhance project effects and performance.
  • Educate production teams on technology nuances and engine capabilities.
  • Document comprehensive technical implementations while remaining current with cutting-edge industry technologies.
Requirements:
  • In-depth understanding of real-time graphics rendering technology, such as PBR, GI, with rich experience in effect development.
  • Solid grasp of relevant mathematical and physical fundamentals, such as optics, calculus, linear algebra, etc.
  • Familiar with renderer pipelines and architectures, able to conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of renderer's underlying design, such as FrameGraph, RHI abstraction, data locality, parallelism, etc.
  • Preferably have in-depth research experience on mature commercial engines (Unreal), as well as solid exposure to proprietary engine solutions (UE/Unity)
  • Understanding of their rendering underlying implementation principles.
  • Proficient in C++ programming, with in-depth knowledge of game engines.
  • Extensive exposure to AAA games across PC and Console.
