Lead Graphic Artist (Creative Director) | Hip-Hop Culture | Fashion & Apparel | Remote Options | $40,000 - $60,000 USD

The role:

They are seeking a talented Lead Graphic Artist who is deeply immersed in hip-hop, popular culture, and fashion trends. This role is for a hip-hop expert. This expertise will ideally be developed with professional experiences, working on brands that fall within the hip-hop space. However, it could also be developed by personal experiences, someone who is a true fan of hip-hop, and has an expert understanding of the artists and fashion brands associated with the industry. With that said, it would still require professional Graphic Artist experience, a strong portfolio, and ideally exposure to generating graphics for fashion (Hoodies, Tees etc). This role offers the opportunity to not only lead their graphic design initiatives but also contribute to creative strategy and direction. It's an ideal position for someone looking to grow into a Creative Director role, influencing the agency's creative direction and driving innovation in their designs. In time, you will shape the agency's creative vision and lead strategic initiatives across all creative disciplines.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative strategies that align with client objectives and our agency's vision in hip-hop, popular culture, and fashion.
  • Conceptualize and create compelling visual designs across digital content, merchandise, branding, and promotional materials.
  • Lead and mentor a team of graphic artists, providing guidance and feedback to foster their growth and creativity in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and marketing team to translate conceptual ideas into impactful visual executions.
  • Ensure all designs uphold brand consistency and quality standards across different platforms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and advancements in design tools and technologies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate efficiently and transparently with all internal departments, and with clients as needed.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Graphic Artist or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in hip-hop, popular culture, and fashion.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.
  • Confident with conceptualisation and leading the creative direction.
  • Solid exposure to the creation of apparel graphics that speak to the hip-hop culture.
  • In-depth understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for hip-hop culture, music, fashion, and a keen eye for emerging trends.
  • Leadership qualities with the motivation and drive to continuously up-skill.
