The Role:


The Digital Strategist will act as the link between creative ambition and measurable performance. This individual will shape platform-specific strategies—most notably for YouTube—to elevate channel growth, enhance content visibility, and strengthen engagement. Working closely with producers, creatives, editors, project managers, and account partners, the strategist ensures each piece of content aligns with broader digital objectives. This role is based in Waterloo with hybrid flexibility.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute YouTube channel strategies, including content pillars, SEO optimisation, and audience growth.
  • Conduct keyword and competitive analysis to refine titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails.
  • Manage upload schedules, playlists, community interactions, and A/B testing.
  • Monitor analytics and recommend insights that increase watch time and conversions.
  • Plan and optimise paid campaigns across YouTube, Meta, Google Ads, and LinkedIn.
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to maximise ROI.
  • Manage media budgets, calendars, and dashboards.
  • Advise on content themes, tone, and storytelling approaches tailored to target audiences.
  • Create strategic briefs identifying opportunities, trends, and KPIs.
  • Support cohesive brand presence across platforms.


Requirements:


  • 3–5+ years in digital strategy, performance marketing, or media management.
  • Demonstrated success managing YouTube channels or video-led paid campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of YouTube Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and digital KPIs.
  • Understanding of video SEO, A/B testing, and dashboard tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
  • Passion for storytelling and emerging digital media.
