The Role: 

My client is looking for a talented Animation Engineer to join their new studio based in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the gaming industry, demonstrating expertise in engineering, specifically animation engineering, and will work towards developing sophisticated animation behaviours to replicate sport. Hybrid role which requires 2 days per week in office. 

Responsibilities:

• Work with exisitng tech, and also build new tech, to ensure the projects technical requirement and design goals. 
• Work alongside Gameplay engineers and Designers to identify and develop new animation features, and execute on the vision for the project. 
• Optimize and debug any animation issues that crop up. identify them as they pop up. 
• Analyze the sport you are working on to faithfully recreate the behaviors of the players we are replicating, with the goal of creating Authentic, Emergent, Visually Appealing and Varied Animation behaviors.
• Assist any junior team mates.

Requirements: 

• Unreal Engine 4, or 5 experience. 
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar.
• 5+ years experience as a Animation or Gameplay Engineer.
• AAA or console experience.
• Solid experience working with C++. 
• Solid experience with 3D maths and linear algebra
• Solid coding skills. 
• Experience or passion for sports games is a big bonus.
