The Company
 
This exciting and innovative studio is looking for a Lead Gameplay Programmer to join them on their newest and most exciting adventure game. You will be overseeing and guiding the team throughout the creative process. Your strong experience will provide mentorship to programmers and collaboration on solutions for the game.
 
 
The Role
 
This role will involve contributing to the team in all aspects from leadership to coding in writing new features and fixing bugs. The ideal candidate will have lots of knowledge and experience in the gaming industry and will share their knowledge with the other designers and programmers. Our client is looking for a Lead who has worked on AAA games in the conception phase through to shipping.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Collaborate with designers, artists and other engineers in developing features.
• Contribute regularly with the team in the development cycle of the project.
• Optimize code and gameplay systems to ensure high performance.
• Collaborate with content and marketing teams in a cross-functional team.
• Motivate and lead a team of programmers through all development stages of the project.
• Provide technical support and expertise to your team and other programmers.

 
 
Knowledge/Skills:
 

• 8+ years of AAA gaming industry experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience or management experience
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Excellent C++ and OOP skills
• Strong knowledge of Jira
• Experience with Preforce and Git
• Experience with RPG, open-world games
• Bilingual - French and English, with strong written, verbal, and communication skills (strong documentation & follow-up abilities).
• Comfortable at collaborating with other teams in all aspects throughout the creative process.
• Demonstrated experience as a gameplay programmer in the computer game industry
