Job description
We are looking for an experienced Head of PMO to join a global leader in the energy sector. As they are embarking on a significant journey to overhaul their PMO function, and we are seeking a talented individual to play a key role in this transformative program. This position offers a competitive daily rate and a 6-month rolling contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Lead the redesign and enhancement of the PMO function to align with the organisations strategic objectives and global standards.
Framework Development: Design and implement robust project management methodologies, tools, and templates to standardize and improve project management practices across the organisation.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with senior executives and key stakeholders to define project goals, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
Performance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to track project success, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide PMO team members, fostering professional growth and promoting best practices in project management.
Process Optimisation: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall project management capabilities.
Risk Management: Develop and oversee risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks effectively.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven Experience: Extensive experience in a senior PMO leadership role, preferably within the energy sector or a similar complex, global environment (6+ Years).
Expertise: Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage executive relationships, and drive organisational change.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
Qualifications: Relevant professional certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) and a degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, etc.).
