The Company
This is a fast-scaling, forward-thinking organization specializing in complex hardware production and global logistics. Known for building high-performance systems under pressure, they’ve secured significant long-term contracts and investment, giving them the runway and resources to scale with confidence. With operations spanning multiple continents and clients in critical industries, they blend manufacturing excellence with strategic foresight.
The Role
They are seeking a Head of Manufacturing Operations to lead the full spectrum of their supply chain, production, and logistics functions. This role is responsible for streamlining operations across procurement, manufacturing, and fulfillment, while closely managing budgets, compliance, and vendor relationships. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will collaborate across internal departments and external partners to build systems that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. From supply forecasting to shipping logistics — this is a hands-on role at the heart of the company’s operational engine.
The Responsibilities
- Lead all global manufacturing operations, including planning, procurement, assembly, and delivery
- Oversee the entire supply chain lifecycle, from sourcing materials to final delivery of products
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement and consistent material availability
- Track and update supply-related budgets, especially monthly inventory spending and forecasting
- Maintain inventory levels, conduct physical counts, and ensure inventory records are accurate and reported to the Finance Department
- Handle inbound and outbound logistics, including FedEx/UPS coordination, label printing, and documentation
- Develop lean, efficient supply chain workflows that reduce costs and eliminate bottlenecks
- Align production planning with sales and operations forecasts, supporting proactive decision-making
- Update financial projections weekly, including COGS tracking and variance analysis between estimates and actuals
- Manage return merchandise authorizations (RMA), reverse logistics, repairs, and recycling or product disposal
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and safety standards related to production and products
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, marketing, and customer success to align operations with business goals
- Identify and resolve issues across the supply chain quickly and effectively, minimizing disruption
- Optimize manufacturing processes for cost control, labor efficiency, and output quality
- Monitor and enforce KPIs that highlight areas for growth, risk, or inefficiency
The Requirements
- 10–15 years of senior-level manufacturing operations experience, including startup and high-growth environments
- Proven background in global supply chain management, logistics, and vendor negotiation across North America, Europe, and Asia
- Strong grasp of electro-mechanical and contract electronics manufacturing workflows
- Deep familiarity with lean manufacturing, S&OP planning, inventory management, and ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage international suppliers, logistics providers, and 3PLs
- Track record of implementing scalable systems to support rapid growth and cross-functional alignment
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills, with the ability to translate data into financial insights
- Adept at leading teams, building supplier partnerships, and influencing C-suite stakeholders
- Hands-on, practical mindset — capable of both strategic planning and operational execution
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels of the business
Why Apply
This is a rare chance to take the reins of a mission-critical function at a company with ambitious goals and the financial backing to achieve them. If you’ve mastered the art of scaling operations, streamlining supply chains, and delivering results under pressure — and want to do it all with a smart, driven team — then this is the role for you. Applicants from manufacturing, hardware, aerospace, defense, or high-stakes logistics sectors are encouraged to apply.
