Computer Vision Engineer | Real-World AI Deployment, Robotics Integration & Product Delivery | On-Site (Toronto) | $130K–$180K + Equity

Job description

The Company

White Bay’s client is a forward-thinking startup leading the transformation of smart home environments through AI-powered robotics. Founded by a pioneering designer-engineer, they're building an ecosystem where machines and AI seamlessly interact with the real world. Unlike traditional home automation systems that rely on basic triggers and rules, their approach centers on full-body and hand motion tracking, enabling intelligent robotics that understands and responds to human behaviour in real-time. They’ve built a stellar team of AI researchers and are now looking to strengthen their engineering execution with practical builders who can bring these ideas to life.

The Role

White Bay’s client is hiring a Computer Vision Engineer for a full-time, on-site position in Canada. This is a 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM role focused on engineering execution—not experimentation. You’ll be responsible for building and deploying working systems in a real environment, taking CV models and pipelines from concept to production. You’ll join a cross-functional team to build out CV pipelines that power their smart home robotics stack, ensuring real-time, accurate perception in physical environments.

Requirements

  • Product-Driven Mindset: You’ve shipped real-world CV-powered products—not just internal tools or academic demos.
  • Computer Vision Engineering (5+ years): Strong experience with real-time vision systems using cameras, depth sensors, and LIDAR.
  • Hands-On Build Experience: You move fast, integrate existing modules cleanly, and deliver results under real constraints.
  • Programming Expertise: Proficient in Python and C++ with an emphasis on performance and maintainability.
  • Embedded + Edge Experience: You’ve deployed CV models to embedded systems, edge devices, or cloud-based robotics pipelines.
  • Sensor Fusion: Capable of integrating various sensor streams (vision, environmental, tactile) into usable system logic.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust, real-time vision pipelines for robotics applications.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers to productize and optimize perception models.
  • Integrate CV systems with robotic hardware, sensors, and actuators.
  • Own the testing, deployment, and reliability of perception modules in live environments.
  • Focus on speed and clarity—this team is shipping, not just experimenting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $180,000, depending on experience ($130,000 for a more junior candidate & $180,000 would be a perfect fit)
  • Stock options available after 1 year (negotiable)
  • On-site work only, no remote
  • Structured 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM schedule
  • Work alongside top-tier AI talent on bleeding-edge robotics projects
  • Be part of a real product launch—this isn’t R&D for the sake of R&D

Why This Role?

They’ve got plenty of researchers—they need someone who builds. If you've worked on actual products, deployed vision systems into production, and know how to deliver results fast, this team is a rare opportunity to join something transformative. One of their senior engineers is transitioning out, and they’re specifically seeking someone to fill that real-world, build-focused gap.

If you’re ready to engineer something new and meaningful—this is the one to take seriously.
