Lead Product Manager - Platform (SaaS)
Job description
This business has reached the point where product can no longer sit in the background.
The platform is strong. The customers are there. The growth is real.
What is missing is clarity.
Right now, product decisions are influenced by delivery, customer requests, and internal priorities. It works, but it does not scale.
That is why this role exists.
This is not about maintaining a roadmap.
This is about defining how product operates across the business.
The Role
You will take ownership of what gets built and why.
Working directly with the CEO, you will translate vision into a clear, structured product direction that the business understands and follows.
You will:
- Define product priorities based on commercial and customer value
- Shape the platform into a scalable, reusable product, not a collection of custom solutions
- Introduce structure, discipline, and consistency into how product decisions are made
- Create alignment across product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams
- Set standards for what good product looks like and ensure they are applied consistently
You will also lead:
- A Senior Product Manager
- A Product Owner
This is a leadership role. Not a delivery role.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a facilitation role.
You are not here to:
- Gather requirements
- Run workshops
- Align stakeholders for the sake of alignment
You are here to:
- Make decisions
- Set direction
- And hold that line when challenged
What They Are Looking For
You have operated in a SaaS or platform environment where:
- Product has needed to evolve from reactive to structured
- You have defined how product should operate, not just contributed to it
- You have made decisions that were not always popular, but were right for the product
You are comfortable:
- Saying no to customers when needed
- Challenging senior stakeholders
- Owning product direction at a business level, not just within a team
You bring:
- Strong product judgement and commercial thinking
- Experience working closely with engineering teams building complex platforms
- The ability to create clarity in environments where priorities compete
- A leadership style that drives decisions, not just discussion

This is a B2B SaaS platform operating in a complex, regulated space.
Customers will push for bespoke solutions.
The role of product is to ensure the platform evolves in a way that is:
- Scalable
- Repeatable
- Commercially sound
You will be working in a business that is:
